Vanago Insurance

Managing the risks associated with your trip

At Vanago, we believe that traveling by camper should be synonymous with freedom and peace of mind.

That’s why we’ve prepared a simple overview of the two key insurance policies you receive as part of your Vanago adventure. The information below will help you understand exactly what your insurance covers and in which situations you can breathe easy.

Trip Cancellation Insurance – what protects you before your trip?

This is your “rainy day” policy — it protects you from financial losses if, for a serious reason, you must cancel or shorten your trip. It covers your camper rental agreement as well.

When can you cancel your trip and get your money back?

The insurance covers your costs if you cannot depart (or have to return early) for reasons stated in the policy, such as:

  • Sudden Health Problems: A sudden illness, accident, or sudden worsening of a chronic disease that makes travel impossible (applies to you, your travel companion, or a close relative not traveling with you).

  • Misfortune at Home: Major damage to your property (e.g., fire, flood, water damage, or burglary).

  • Serious Summons: Receiving a summons to appear in court, or from a public administration or military authority.

  • Death: The death of the insured person, a travel companion, or a close relative.

Remember: In case of trip cancellation, the insurer reimburses the difference between the trip price and the amount recovered from the organizer (Vanago). The maximum insurance amount per person is typically PLN 40,000.

Key Exclusions

To avoid unpleasant surprises, you should know when the insurance does not apply.

When will the insurer not pay?
  • Pre-existing issues: The insurance won’t cover cancellation costs if the reason (e.g., illness or medical contraindications) existed before the insurance contract was signed.

  • Cancellation by Vanago: The policy doesn’t cover costs if the trip is canceled, changed, or interrupted by the organizer (e.g., Vanago).

  • Alcohol and drugs: The insurer isn’t liable for events caused by being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants.

  • Extreme activities (without additional coverage): The standard WARTA TRAVEL policy doesn’t cover professional sports or risky expeditions, e.g., to the Himalayas.

  • Mental disorders: Treatment costs related to psychological or mental disorders are not covered.

Travel Insurance – what protects you during your trip?

This policy works like your personal, mobile safety umbrella around the world. Its main goal is to ensure that sudden health problems or accidents don’t ruin your finances abroad.

What does the insurance include?
  • Medical Costs and Assistance: This is the foundation. If you suddenly fall ill (including with COVID-19) or have an accident, WARTA covers the cost of treatment, doctor visits, hospital stays, and even medical transport back to Poland. It also applies to the aggravation of chronic diseases.

  • Waiver of Deductible on the Rented Vehicle: Essential for anyone renting a camper! If you damage the camper during the trip and, under the rental agreement, would normally have to pay a deductible (the amount withheld by the rental company before their insurance applies), this policy can cover that cost.

  • Personal Liability (Civil Liability): If you accidentally cause damage to someone else (e.g., break expensive equipment at a campsite or collide with someone on a bike), the insurance covers the losses.

  • Luggage and Equipment: Your travel luggage is protected. Additionally, if your flight is delayed or canceled, you can get reimbursed for documented accommodation expenses or the purchase of essential items.

In summary:

The insurance policies that Vanago includes in your trip provide comprehensive protection — from sudden illnesses during your journey (WARTA TRAVEL) to having to cancel your vacation due to a house fire (Trip Cancellation Insurance).

Thanks to this, you can focus entirely on enjoying your adventure, while any financial turbulence caused by unexpected problems is taken care of by your insurer.
