🚐 Morocco in four ways: How much does a trip to Marrakesh really cost?

Morocco in winter is sun, spices, desert, and the unique atmosphere of the souk. It's also an ideal destination for travelers seeking warmth, adventure, and freedom—especially when it's the middle of winter in Poland.

But how we get there has a huge impact on the cost , comfort , and character of the trip . So let's compare four realistic trip scenarios to Marrakesh at the turn of January and February 2026, for a couple with two weeks of vacation who want to see the real Morocco—with the freedom of the road.

Option 1 - Minicampervan from Poland

This is an option for those who enjoy the road itself. From Warsaw to Marrakesh, it's about 4,000 km one-way , or 8,000 km total . You'll need to travel through Germany, France, and Spain, then take a ferry from Algeciras to Tangier .

Assumptions:

  • mini camper rental: PLN 350/day (it doesn't matter whether it's your own campervan or a rented one - you'll either cover your own depreciation and servicing costs or pay the rental company for it in the form of a rental fee)

  • fuel consumption: 7 l/100 km ,

  • the journey takes 14 days (approx. 5 days on the road, 9 days on arrival),

  • accommodation – in the car, no additional costs.

Costs (PLN):

Position

Cost

Car rental (14 days Ɨ PLN 350)

4,900 PLN

Fuel (8,000 km Ɨ 7 l/100 km Ɨ 7.20 PLN/l)

800 PLN

Motorways + vignettes (Europe)

1,000 PLN

Insurance/Transit Fees

300 PLN

āž”ļø Total: approx. PLN 11,000

This is the most "wild" option—not the cheapest, and demanding in terms of time and energy. This leaves about nine days of actual travel in Morocco.

Option 2 - Flight + passenger car

For those who prefer to plan independently and sleep in hotels.

Costs (PLN):

WAW–RAK flights (2 pax)

2,200

Car rental (14 days)

2,800

1,008

Accommodation (250 PLN/night)

3,500

āž”ļø Total: approx. PLN 9,500

This is the cheapest way to spend two weeks in Morocco, but it means less freedom – a hotel instead of the desert, a parking lot instead of nature.

Option 3 - Renting a campervan yourself in Morocco

A growing number of rental companies in Marrakech and Agadir are offering mini campervans. This option is for those who want complete independence but still manage their own reservations and insurance.

Costs (PLN):

Position

Cost

WAW–RAK flights (2 pax)

2,200

Extended insurance (optional)

800

Deposit (refundable lock)

4,000–6,000 PLN

āž”ļø Total: ~8,000 - 8,800 PLN (+ security deposit)

Complete freedom – but complete responsibility: difficult contact with the local operator, formalities in French or Arabic, and limited support in the event of a breakdown. Special cases, such as a damaged tire, are not immediately clear how they will be handled – whether you pay for it yourself, with a deposit, or perhaps with additional insurance you purchase yourself.

Option 4 - Vanago Fly&Ride Morocco Tour

Vanago combines comfort with freedom. It books your flight at the carrier's price (no markup) and delivers your campervan to your destination at the local rental price, adding a service package ( 800 PLN ) that includes:

  • full deposit and travel insurance,

  • Vanago 12/5 support,

  • Vanago AI chat 24/7 – knows your vehicle and route, suggests places and services,

  • emergency assistance and on-site support.

Conclusions
  • A mini camper in Morocco is the most economically sensible choice for 2 people – it provides freedom and does not require a multi-day journey through Europe.

  • A camper from Poland is a beautiful vision, but it takes more money and time.

  • A passenger car + hotels is classic comfort, but without the vanlife atmosphere.

  • Vanago Fly&Ride offers the same level of independence as DIY, but with full support, insurance, and peace of mind. Vanago handles the logistics and provides full insurance and support – all you do is travel.
